VISITING MORECAMBE?

The theatre is easy to find. Just head for the Central Promenade, wave to Eric Morecambe’s statue as you proceed toward the Stone Jetty and Midland Hotel. The Winter Gardens (see above) is the imposing terracotta building on the town side of the prom directly opposite The Dome and War Memorial Gardens.

The town’s Information Centre is 2 minutes walk away, sited in the old Promenade Station building, directly opposite the almost fully restored Art Deco Midland Hotel.

There is plenty of ticketed parking along the Promenade, behind the Winter Gardens and just over Marine Road, next to The Dome.

Currently only the main entrance, foyer and stalls level are open to general view and entrance is free. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult and as there are many listed features in the building we ask you not to bring in pets.
Smoking and alcohol are strictly prohibited throughout the building.

We are open to visitors Saturdays and Sundays from noon until 4pm. Volunteer guides will answer your questions. You can join a tour of the theatre, choose some souvenirs from our charity shop or leave a donation if you have enjoyed your visit. Tour guides take groups regularly to the Circle, “Gods” outside Viewing Balcony and on to the Stage. These areas are not otherwise accessible to the public and you should be reasonably fit to climb several flights of stairs.

Special party tours are available outside these opening hours by appointment and we can also host Ghost Hunt groups who wish to spend a few cold night hours “contacting” the spirits said to haunt this famous old theatre!
